[EU][HORIZON EUROPE] Horizon Europe Cluster 1 Health: Updated 2027 Work Programme & Information Session

The European Commission has adopted an amended version of the Horizon Europe 2026-2027 Work Programme, including several important updates for Cluster 1: Health. 

What has changed?

The most relevant changes for applicants are:

• Earlier opening dates and deadlines for all 2027 Health calls.

  • HORIZON-HLTH-2027-03
    Opening: 03 Jun 2027
    Deadline(s): 16 Sep 2027

• Strategic reframing of topic HORIZON-HLTH-2027-03-TOOL-08. The topic now focuses on frontier AI models, multimodal health data and European AI infrastructures, while maintaining its original level of ambition. Read the changed topic text here.

• A new funding opportunity at the biodiversity-health interface has been launched. This topic, 'Advancing interdisciplinary, data-driven research at the biodiversity-health interface under a One Health approach', aims to strengthen interdisciplinary research linking biodiversity, ecosystem health, animal health and human health. The topic supports the operationalisation of One Health and Planetary Health approaches through improved data sharing, interoperability and evidence-based policymaking. (deadline on 16/09/ 2027).

To help applicants understand these changes and prepare competitive proposals, an information session is being organised through the European Research & Innovation Community platform. The session will provide an overview of the updated Health Work Programme and highlight the implications for researchers planning to participate in upcoming calls.
